[RS-ecology] question for R and Sentinel 2A

Hello to all,
I am new to this group and just started to work with R based on the new and
great book Remote Sensing and GIS for Ecologist. I have a question related
to use R with Sentinel 2A satellite images. In the book chapter 5 Pre
Procesing there is command in R for reading LANDSAT meta data file. My
question is: Is it possible to read meta data for Sentinel 2A granule the
same way or R is working only with LANDSAT?
