Göttingen is offering the position of a
Researcher / Data Scientist in Remote Sensing / LiDAR (f / m / d)
in the Central Scientific Service Project Z02 “Remote Sensing” at the
Abt. Bioklimatologie, Faculty of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology.
The position will be limited to 31.12.2021 and should be filled as soon
as possible. Salary: The salary is in accordance with the German public
service salary scale TV-L E13 (100%), which corresponds to 39.8 working
hours per week.
Your duties
- Processing of airborne LiDAR and other remote sensing data
- Computing comprehensive set of LiDAR / Hyperspectral based indicators
of forest structure (2D/3D)
- Data management of large spatial data
- In situ validation of data products
- Operation of the EFForTS WebGIS
Your profile (technical skills)
- Academic degree (minimum Dipl. / M.Sc.) in geography / forestry /
biology or related subjects. PhD prefered.
- Experience in processing and analysis of spatial data. A focus on
LiDAR-data is desirable.
- Very good skills in statistics and / or quantitative spatial data
analysis.
- Experience in interdisciplinary scientific projects is desirable.
Your profile (personal skills)
- Motivation for field work in tropical environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, team player.
- Very good skills of English language.
The project will be based in Göttingen, but field work is done in Indonesia.
